Part of an ongoing personal project from the spring, one of two pieces that were on my wall incomplete for months. This is the first piece, in the pencil stage. Originally on yellowish paper, altered in PS for visibility.

that so awesomely puts all christian/catholic iconography to shame... i'd love to see this in color! how on earth do you do all this intricate pencil work without smudging?! ;p

Hahaha, good thing I'm Catholic. *lends points* XD

For no smudging, I find mechanical pencils with .5 lead and decent paper do the trick. Working on the wall, at an angle, or just really carefully also works. :3

but..i really dont understand the picture. is it supposed to be a bird? but i see things like hands and an eye, but i dont see a human D:

I don't either; I see two sets of hands though? XD Maybe it's a cherubim (of the singularly plural sort).
