Patience - Lines by beastofoblivion Patience - Lines by beastofoblivion
Part of an ongoing personal project from the spring, one of two pieces that were on my wall incomplete for months. This is the first piece, in the pencil stage. Originally on yellowish paper, altered in PS for visibility.

14x17"

Its very different and psychadelic from your other pieces. I like it a lot. It has an air about it that reminds me of the spirit of death in Hellboy 2. Really good job. I am saving faving this one!

Did I tell you you are AWESOME!?!?

Girl, I'm so following your lead - I've never thought of using my art style for non-representational work. Hope things are better for you today; I'm sending positive waves for your situation to cool down again. Purely selfish reasons, mind - I want a SECOND book!

LOL, many thanks for the compliment and the positive waves! Man, I can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm finding more abstract work to be more satisfying these days, it's been really amusing. If I can find a way to make things both abstract AND cohesive, I think it'd be awesome.

You're well on your way. Patience has a strong design. It holds together regardless of distance as a pleasing overall shape. It's also very interesting due to its detail; you've got your elements positioned perfectly to lead the eye around in a rhythmic fashion.

Enjoy diving into abstract pieces - you've got a good eye for them. I eagerly await what comes next from the Mistress of Chaos! ^_^

that so awesomely puts all christian/catholic iconography to shame... i'd love to see this in color! how on earth do you do all this intricate pencil work without smudging?! ;p

Hahaha, good thing I'm Catholic. *lends points* XD

For no smudging, I find mechanical pencils with .5 lead and decent paper do the trick. Working on the wall, at an angle, or just really carefully also works. :3

I don't either; I see two sets of hands though? XD Maybe it's a cherubim (of the singularly plural sort).
