A Terrian, a species also known as 'moonshine' or 'moonshadows.' One of the denizens of the Chaos Realm, this particular creature is normally a deep gray or blue-green with a lighter, tan underbelly. They also sport strange, writhing black tattoos across their backs and wings. Under the glow of a mysterious pulsing star, the creatures become a brilliant silvery-white and their skins are enveloped in ethereal flame (they glow like the moon, DUH), whereupon they are consumed by it shortly after and then are reborn. There are no real genders and they do not reproduce, though all members of this species lays eggs in a normal cycle attuned to the star. Though empty and abandond they will be reborn into the ones that survive and the cycle will begin again. They also react heavily to the presence of the Lochiovonychus (Lockjaws), with their skin shimmering and glittering brighter as the Ruler's presence grows near. Should they touch one it is believed that they will change and be reborn without the guidance of the star.


Notes:
1.) About the Chaos Realm: The Chaos Realm is somewhat of a parallel dimension/universe to reality where the Empires exist, and its entire existance is a byproduct of the existance of the Lochiovonychus. It is a fantasy world, a place where anything and everything is possible and where nothing usually makes sense. It feeds off the creative energies of reality and molds them randomly into impossible forms, creating creatures and situations that could never exist anywhere else. It is a place of happy good things (like unicorns, dragons, etc.) and fairly evil and disgusting things (hellbeasts, monsters, you get the idea). For reference, ordinarily there is only one of any creature that exists. There are few creatures that actually have enough of a population to be considered a species, or a race. If you're born into Chaos, you're usually one of a kind.
Generally it is known that those in reality cannot cross over into Chaos and those in Chaos cannot survive reality, but it is certainly possible. The best example of this would be the Vulfs, a strange species of wolf hybrids that showed up out of nowhere and now populate Empire Eutharious. No Vulf is the same physically or mentally. Another good example are Hellbeast Intrusions, whereupon the form of some nightmarish creature in Chaos is possessed by a demonic spirit and catapulted into reality to antagonize the Lockjaws by destroying their work and delaying their progress. Yahndrall's Shadowraith is very adept at posessing alternate forms and altering them to its own aesthetic, but unlike normal demons it cannot be sent back to Hell so easily and is pretty much stuck with the unfortunate Lockjaw until he passes on.
In this dimension/universe Time also doesn't really matter. Things simply exist or don't exist, and either can happen to anything at any moment. Days can go on for minutes or years, same with nights and seasons if they even occur. Everything has its own random pattern or cycle. However, there is one constant in this world and that is a second pulsating star that is believed to have a connection to Tsaritartion (the Lockjaw home world). It could be Tsaritartion's sun, it could be the planet itself, no one knows. But all creatures generally recognize that 'the Dark' come from there, and that their existance is pretty much powered by whatever that thing is up in the sky.



2.) Where did the Chaos Realm come from? I've had this little parallel dimension probably since freshman year in highschool. Most of the dragons and fantasy creatures I drew back then came from there, and many of the stories I wrote took place there since they obviously didn't fit into the Empire setup. This was also back before I had internet and whatnot so if the name has been used before by you or anyone please don't flip out. I'll get around to giving it a new name now that I'm diving back into it and making it public, but for right now you'll have to be satisfied with my cheesy highschool labeling.

I can't think of any other questions right now, and I should get back to watching Sleepy Hollow and working on my trade. (w00t!)
